Wainscott Plumbing Co. does one narrow thing for the South Fork of Long Island, Southampton to Montauk: when a house needs a plumber, we find the right one and put the two of you in touch. We do not sweat pipe, set water heaters or pump cesspools. We are named for the hamlet, not for any company in it, and we are not connected to any plumber, heating company or property that shares the name.
The problem we are for
A Hamptons house has more plumbing than most houses and fewer people in it. The owner is in the city, the water is on a well with iron in it or on a main that was laid last year, the heat is oil or propane because the gas never reached the street, and the pipes run through a crawl space that sees 20°F in January. The company you want is the one that answers in February, knows the difference between a Springs well and a Sagaponack one, and drains a house so that it actually stays drained. The usual way to find them is a number from the house manager or the last owner, which may or may not still be answered. We keep track of who works each town, what they are good at, and whether they show up.
How it works
You tell us about the house once: where it is, what is wrong or what you want done, and when. We put you in touch with one licensed, insured plumber who works your town and does that kind of work, and they call you within one business day, sooner for an emergency. From there it is their quote, their schedule, their warranty. If the job is really a septic installer's, a well driller's or a heating contractor's, that is a distinction we make before anyone calls you.
What "vetted" means here
Before we send a homeowner to a plumber, we check for a current Suffolk County master plumber licence, liability and workers' compensation insurance, local references, and a track record in the job at hand. A company that is excellent at emergency service is not automatically the right one for a radiant-heat remodel, and the reverse.
What it costs
Nothing, for homeowners. Participating plumbers pay us a referral fee for the introduction. You pay the plumber for the work, on their quote, and we do not sell your details to anyone.
About the numbers
Plumbing prices out here have a reputation, some of it earned in January. We publish 2026 Long Island cost ranges for the things people actually call about, service calls, water heaters, boilers, winterizations, well pumps, frozen pipes, and we say where each number comes from and whether it is local or national. When sources disagree we print both. When we could not find a trustworthy figure, we say that instead of making one up.
